Don't be fooled by buzzwords like "attainable" or "walkable." Under the guise of "livability," the city has passed a code that strips away your right to notification, eliminates single-family neighborhood protections.
While they claim to be "pro-environment," their actual record over the last five years shows a priority for auto-centric sprawl, such as approving new gas stations, car washes, and drive-throughs right next to our homes.
The progressives talks about 'walkability' like we're in Europe, but Lakewood is a car-dependent suburb. Forcing six starter homes onto a single-family lot doesn't create a grocery store within walking distance--it just creates a parking nightmare. You can't 'plan' a walkable city by simply destroying old homes for 4-6, three-story townhomes.
Real progress isn't forced by an unelected Director; it is built through the consent of the people, the residents who already call Lakewood home.
The City claims to defend a "progressive" plan, but true progress doesn't silence the people. These ordinances aren't "pro-people"--they are PRO-DEVELOPER.
By removing binding community input and handing unilateral power to city staff, the city has created a top-down mandate that ignores the unique needs of our specific neighborhoods. We need to look at what Lakewood will turn into if these flawed zonings are pass and kept.
Voting YES to REPEAL isn't a vote against progress or the future; it is a vote for a future where community-led solutions come first.
We believe in a Lakewood where housing policy is built with neighbors, not forced upon them by an administrator. Stand up for a Lakewood that respects the democratic process.
Repeal the ordinances and bring the community back into the picture. Vote YES!

To "REPEAL" doesn't mean we want Lakewood to stand still or stop being a forward-thinking, progressive city. It means we reject the FLAWED PROCESS that excludes the people.
True progress happens when the community, the environment, and the infrastructure are in sync.
Sustainability can't be forced. These new ordinances force "progress" through a developer's lens, ignoring the strain on our grid and the loss of our tree canopies.
Power to the People. By repealing these ordinances, we are demanding progress that is voted on, transparent, and accountable to the neighbors--the residents it affects.
